I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of the correspondence noted in the margin and ina reference to the subject of interchange of Chinese Correspondence between China and this Colony to transmit for your information the enclosed copy of a proclamation which will shortly be issued in Hongkang.

I understand that Mr. Bredoa the Commissioner at Canton will address you fully in regard to the arrangements made for the transport of Coast Mails through Hongkong.

I may add that whatever assistance this Office can give will be gladly rəndəred.
